COVID-19, despite hitting the brakes on the market, has fast-forwarded important dynamics which are reshaping this industry. Luxury brands face a year of tremendous shift but the industry will come out from the crisis with more purpose and more dynamism than ever before. By 2025, this industry will be drastically transformed. We will not talk about luxury industry but of the market for insurgent cultural and creative excellence.

Online channel accelerates growth while stores will be redefined

The changes brought by COVID-19 increased the presence of online in every aspect of life. In the luxury market, online sales made up EUR49B in 2020, up from EUR33B in 2019. The share of purchases made online nearly doubled from 12% in 2019 to 23% in 2020.
